How to go to Japan Expo

 

Japan Expo is taking place at Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Center.

The festival has an exceptional transportation service thanks to a dedicated RER train station, 30 minutes from the center of Paris and 10 minutes away from Charles de Gaulle airport and train station, as well as a taxi station.

How to get in

 

At the Esplanade, ticket holders and people without tickets are split into 3 distinct lines.

One hour before the official opening time, ticket holders are directed toward the entrance (this is not for Premium Ticket owners). People who purchased their ticket from pre-sale offices and those who bought their ticket at the festival a day or two before are in the same line. Please, make sure you keep your ticket at hand to save time.

People without tickets are sent to the exhibition hall to purchase their tickets at the registers at 10.00 am.

Respect the opening hours!! It’s no use coming at 6.00 am and waiting for several hours!

Part of the lines are outside. Have a look at the weather forecast and get the necessary items: an umbrella in case of rain or a cap in case of sunshine may be useful!

 

Registers and means of payment

 

Cash
Please note that banknotes above €50 are not accepted. Before you reach the registers and in order to save time, please prepare the exact change.

Checks
For any check, an ID will always be required. To save time, please have it ready.

Credit cards
Payments with credit cards are accepted at some specific registers.

 

ATMs

 

ATMs are available at Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Center. If you get out of the festival, you won’t be allowed to get back in, so make sure you have enough cash before getting in!!

More generally, please bring enough cash or checks because very few exhibitors accept credit cards and ATMs will most likely be crowded. Anticipating the cash need means no worry about it during the festival.

 

Checkrooms

 

There are checkrooms, run by the exhibition center, where you can leave your personal belongings. They are set at the entrances of hall 5 and hall 6.

• fees for clothes = €2 / item
• fees for regular size baggage = €3 / item
• fees for big baggage = €4 / item

Cosplay changing rooms

 

For cosplayers, changing rooms are available:

• dedicated changing rooms for those who parade for the cosplay contests on the main stage
• changing rooms for free cosplayers who do not take part in the main stage shows

If you have bags or baggage you want to leave for the day, use the checkrooms (see above).

 

Food and drink

 

There are several restaurants at Japan Expo. Yet you should know that they are often crowded and the lines are sometimes long. More information on this page.

You can also bring your own food.

Don't forget to take water and to drink regularly as it's very hot, both in waiting lines and inside the festival!

 

Weapons and katana

 

As in all public places, wearing and using weapons is strictly forbidden inside the festival. This rule applies to cosplayers as well as all the attendees.

Any weapon carried by anyone inside the festival will be confiscated by security services.

Katana and other weapons sold inside the festival must be kept inside their boxes.

Kids

 

Activities for children
Japan Expo is organizing a kids' area with activities for your children and you: more information about this will be online soon.
Attention, you can't leave your children alone, this is not babysitting.

Babies
Several nurseries with tables are available for parents to allow you to take care of your babies.

Lost children
Lost children and their parents meet at the Information Desk (Point Info) of the festival.

 

First aid

 

In case someone feels faint or gets hurt, contact the medical service whose number is available on the festival map.

 

Animals

 

Animals are forbidden in the festival: this way, you avoid a stressful day to your pets!

 

Lost items

 

During the festival, found objects are brought back to the information desk (point info) which keeps them until the end of the festival. We keep them afterwards to allow you to get them back, if they have been found.
