The guests – 14th Impact
This year, Japan Expo did not lack prestigious guests this year. They were here to meet you and share their experiences, and career stories with you but also for numerous signing sessions!
The Guests of Honor
Manga with Tetsuo HARA, anime with Shôji KAWAMOR, J-music with the idol group °C-ute and video games with the five Square Enix guests, this year had quite a lot of great moments! You can find these on the Guests of Honor page!
Manga and Anime
During his masterclass on Thursday, Masahiro IKENO, the mangaka of Malicious Code talked about his drawing style, his methods, how he went from traditional to digital drawing and also about his demanding working rhythm.
Saturday, it was the turn of shôjo mangaka Aya ODA, here to present her new title: Room Paradise. In this awaited and very relaxed conference, she talked about her atypical career and her creative process with a live drawing of the main character of her manga. She was very surprised about her popularity in France and answered all her fans questions.
Tatsuyuki TANAKA and Toshiyuki KUBOOKA were here for the PES conference on Friday for the world premiere screening of the three music video clips created thanks to the collaboration of Studio 4°C and Toyota. Una was on stage too, one of the video was created with her debut song Lonely Flower. The people in the audience also got the chance to have a Berserk: The Golden Age genga!
During the Aniplex conference on Saturday, Atsuhiro IWAKAMI talked about some of his projects, in these, the eagerly awaited 3rd Puella Magi Madoka Magica movie and its screening in the Grand Rex in November. Tomonori OCHIKOSHI also talked about his new project: Silver Spoon. Three new series were also announced: Kill La Kill, Samurai Flamenco et Galileo Dona – Storia di tre sorelle a taccia di un mistero.
Junko TAKEUCHI, Naruto’s voice was here for some signing sessions but she also surprised her fans on Thursday just before the projection of the Road to Ninja movie with an exclusive dubbing demonstration!
And what about music?
Whatever style you like the most, the Live House had quite a selection this year! Idols with Dempagumi.Inc, mixing traditional and modern instruments with Kao=S or even the eccentric Maywa Denki, they all were all here for some energetic shows!
NIGHTMARE, Urbangarde and May’N had their own showcases but they also participated in the musical event not to miss this year, the PES NEXT GENERATION LIVE! Una was on stage for the first time during this show and Natsuko ASO, one of the hosts also sang a bit! Add Anime Oen Project to the mix and you had an exceptional show!
This also gave the opportunity to some people here to win some gifts, the best one being a trip to Japan!
Always more guests!
The gravure idol Natsuna, star of the Weekly Young Jump magazine, was here to present this genre with the exposition gathering the best pictures of these last 20 years at Japan Expo. Her fans also had the occasion to meet her during her signing sessions and the light and funny conference she gave on Saturday.
Ray FUJITA presented the 8th episode of the GARO series during a full house screening. He was in the room and his fans did not miss the occasion to ask him all the questions they prepared for him in a very friendly atmosphere!
The four Japanese wrestlers Kikutaro Kazma SAKAMOTO, Hiromu TAKAHASHI and Daisuke SEKIMOTO showed some epic moves during the four days of the festival! Solo or tag team, against each other or European wrestlers, the fighters kept the ring busy!
For fashion fans, Masuda Sebastian was here to talk about the evolution of kawaii for the 80s to now but also how he created his boutique and he came back on his participation in the Harajuku Kawaii Experience on Thursday. On Saturday, it was Tsubasa MASUWAKA’s turn, here to give some advices to her fans about how to use her Dolly Wink products, always in a ludic way and with live demonstrations!
And for those who enjoy Japanese food, Laure KIÉ was preparing some delicious meals on her culinary demonstrations on Thursday and Saturday, the best part was of course being able to eat all this at the end!

During the festival, a lot of artists were on the booths of different editors for some signing sessions!
