Biography

Born on April 25, 1969, in Fuji city, Shizuoka Prefecture, Takeshi MIYAGAWA displayed his creative talents from a young age, in drawing and making up stories. While attending Junior High School, he came across resin cast model kits, and participated in the world’s biggest modeling event, “Wonder Festival,” showing his own creations.

Caught up in the fun of modeling, he put his energy into producing model figures, mainly in the 1/12 to 1/8 scales. Later, he founded the group “T’s System.”

Although at one point, following in his father’s footsteps, he entered a scientific field of study, he was unable to give up the fun of building things, and later majored in art at university. There, he learned from the sculptor Yoshikatsu KURODA. At that time, companies such as SEGA, Bandai, Kaiyodo and others were producing model kits professionally. “Miyagawa Works” were put on general sale and the name steadily became more famous.

After graduating from university, he was even more absorbed in the world of figure production, and published his own creations, winning great acclaim.
In recent years he has made not only resin cast figure kits, but also customized special edition figures in collaboration with publishers such as Shueisha. Moreover, he has also entered into a strong partnership with Kaiyodo to produce figures for trading, and with companies such as SEGA and Konami for the design of prize items, and other products.

Until the present day, he has maintained a prolific stream on new models, across various items and genres, and at various scales. Takeshi MIYAGAWA is respected as a producer of three dimensional models of characters from Anime, games and comic books and he also has his own original creations.
