Born on December 24, 1962 in Tôkyô, Nobuteru YÛKI started as a computer artist at Artland, on The Super Dimension Century Orguss. He got spotted for his chara-design work on BIONIC SIX, in collaboration with the US, and on the Battle Royale High School OAV, in Japan.

Among his most remarkable works, let’s mention Escaflowne. Indeed he made the chara-design of this famous heroic fantasy series. All his fans remember his particular visual style, which is all the more obvious in Escaflowne the Movie on which Nobuteru YÛKI worked as a chara-designer and animation director.

The characteristics of his style and the search for details also appear in his other works such as Five Star Story or Record of Lodoss War, Captain Harlock, a recent adaptation of Albator, and Paradise Kiss.

He also worked in other fields, such as video games with Chrono Cross or Seiken Densetsu 3 (Secret of Mana 2), and Manga with Vaelber Saga. His most recent design for a video game is Solatorobo -Red the Hunter- that will be introduced this year at Japan Expo.
