Introduction

A big cinema fan, Hideo KOJIMA made several short films at school. Also a fan of Manga and robots, he soon gets interested in video games. He enters Konami in 1986 and starts as a game planner.

Metal Gear on MSX is his first production. An action game, Metal Gear is the precursor of the very appreciated genre of infiltration game. The third episode, Metal Gear Solid makes him known from the public. Metal Gear Solid is the result of all the experience he acquired as a video game director, for instance with Snatcher or Policenauts.

Since then, Hideo KOJIMA developped and directed Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, produced Zone Of The Enders 1 & 2 and elaborated Boktai 1 & 2, based on the ambient light. Today he has created his own studio, Kojima productions.
