Born in 1991, Ein LEE spends her time between her studies and her passion: drawing. This young artist from Taiwan soon got famous on the social and artistic network DeviantArt. She won the prestigious Royal Over-Seas League’s Young Artist Competition which allowed her to have her work exhibited in London.

As a young prodigy in illustration, she signed her first book at 18, Princesse Pivoine (Princess Peony), with the publisher nobi nobi !, which soon is a success in France. In 2011, she illustrated a famous tale from Japanese traditional culture: Le Secret de la grue blanche (the secret of the white crane).

On May 15, nobi nobi ! is publishing a third masterpiece by Ein LEE: La Princesse au bol enchanté (the princess with the enchanted bowl), a tale in which magic and the destiny of the heroine reminds of Cinderella, with a bit of Japanese refinement on top!

La Princesse au bol enchanté

In the land of Kawachi, Princess Haruka grew up loved by her parents, until that day when her beloved mother is truck down by illness. In her last breath, she put a bowl on her head and made a prayer to protect her in the future. Fate prevents Haruka from taking off this wood headgear which hides her face.

As she became different in everyone’s eyes, she suffers from disdain and mockery. She decides to leave and go far away, and becomes a servant for a lord. Her way crosses that of Prince Kaito who falls for Haruka despite her curse. Yet, isn’t love said to be the greatest curse?
