Like every year, Japan Expo main stage welcomed thousands of you for the 12th Impact! Cosplay, fashion, performances, showcases, conference: back to four days of frenzy…

Cosplay, king of all events

This year again, Cosplay shone on the main stage with daily performances. On Thursday and Friday the traditional Cosplay Shows took place with on-going shows, letting the Cosplayers’ talent and creativity delight the 15.000 people audience.

After launching the event in 2010, Japan Expo hosted the very first finals of the European Cosplay Gathering (ECG) on Saturday. The best European Cosplayers performed on stage for these unforgettable finals. Congrats to the winners: Elena d’A. (solo), who represented Italy with a costume from Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core, and the Portuguese Ana S. and Leandro M., for groups, with costumes from Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles. On top of the finals, the French selections for the 2012 ECG also took place, launching the series of selections which will occur in several festivals through Europe in the following months. Next year, you will be glad to see Constance C. D. for solo, who won her place in the 2012 finals with a costume from Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity, and Floria N. and Vanina N. who performed in costumes from Warhammer 40 000 for groups.

Eventually, on Sunday, on top of the Comic Con’ Syfy Cosplay Show, the French selections for the prestigious World Cosplay Summit took place, in partnership with Aichi TV. Laure C. and Christèle G., dressed as Clarissa Rezelput and Mizeria Rezelput from Doors of Chaos, have been chosen to represent France in the finals in Japan.

The Japan Fashion Days

Present at Japan Expo for a long time, fashion has an ever-growing success and spread its wings more thane ver this year with a new event, the Japan Fashion Days. The main stage welcomed seven fashion shows: the school uniform shows by CONOMi on Thursday and Saturday, the gothic-lolita event of designer h.NAOTO, guest of honor of the festival, on Friday, the show by AOI Clothing on Sunday, and of course the Young Designer Fashion Springboards, on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

Humor, music and shows

With a 15.000 people capacity, giant screens and huge dimensions, the main stage is above all a stage for big shows!

This year, Marcus settled once more on the main stage on Sunday for his video game program Chez Marcus dedicated to Japan Expo which ended the festival in front of won-over fans! The famous Marcus fought other players in epic games!

Still in the theme of video games, the Geek Music Show was back. The association DoReMi Game & Cie played video game music while the association ORGames proposed amazing rhythm game demonstrations.

The main stage also hosted the festival guests and X Japan gave a conference before the concert which was the great come back of the band in Paris. Many fans were there… and maybe you were among them?!

The main stage was also the place for discoveries and the artists were on stage for showcases and never seen performances. This year, you could enjoy the offbeat and hilarious Kyûton or choreographed sword fight by Kamui, a group of sword artists whose leader took part in Kill Bill.

There was music too with Iruma RIOKA and May’n who also set the J.E. Live House on fire, and Keisho OHNO, Shamisen master who played traditional music with groovy tunes.
