Guests by the dozen – 12th Impact

Beyond guests of honor - Yumiko IGARASHI, Nobuteru YÛKI, Akira YAMAOKA and h.NAOTO -, many artists came and met the attendees of Japan Expo this summer!

 

Manga, Anime, children's book guests

 

You’ve discovered JUDGE during the festival, with a dedicated exhibition and with the author, Yoshiki TONOGAI, who’s also made Doubt. He met you on Ki-oon’s booth for signing sessions.

The author of Trigun, Yasuhiro NIGHTOW, was also at Japan Expo, invited by Dybex, and met you for signing sesions and a conference followed by a drawing session.

Boy’s love fans were delighted with Hinako TAKAGANA who had come to present in exclusivity the latest volume of Silent Love, and Toko KAWAI, author of romantic comedies.

Invited by the publisher nobi nobi!, the Japanese artist Shiitake and the authors Christelle HUET-GOMEZ, Alice BRIÈRE-HAQUET and Céline LAVIGNETTE-AMMOUN were at Japan Expo for signing sessions and to present their books.

Takeshi MIYAGAWA, a talented figurine sculptor, shared with you the secrets if his art. Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon, Oh My Goddess!, Sakura Taisen, Neon Genesis Evangelion or Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha: so many Manga and Anime characters who got shape in his hands.

Video game guests

 

On the side of the video game area, there were many guests too. SUDA51 and Akira YAMAOKA presented Shadows of the Damned on stage.

Still on the video game stage, Hiroyuki KANEKO presented in exclusivity Dragon Ball Game Project Age 2011 and you could also meet Hideo BABA, producer of Tales of, Shuji YOSHIDA, who had come to talk about One Piece Gigant Battle, Katsuhiro HARADA with new images of the movie Tekken™ Blood Vengeance or Hiroshi MATSUYAMA with news about the Naruto series.

Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 3’s producer, Yoshitaka GOTO, gave signing sessions for the release of the game.

 

J-Music guests

 

J-Music at Japan Expo means J.E. Live House and many guests got on stage this year for showcases: Akira YAMAOKA (with Mary-Elizabeth McGLYNN and Manu), Lightning, May’n, Golden Bomber, TarO&JirO, Yuuhei-satellite & Yuuhei-catharsis for the Vocaloid program, Iruma RIOKA, MEG, PASSPO☆, 1000say, Shanti and LAZYgunsBRISKY.

Of course, they were not the only ones to represent Japanese music at Japan Expo! Hitomi YOSHIZAWA and Rika ISHIKAWA from Dream Morning Musume。 made you dream with a conference and a signing session. Michiru OSHIMA, music composer for Fullmetal Alchemist, presented the Ganbalo Nippon project, a program aimed at supporting the March 11 event victims. With Yume Duo, the sound of piano and violin filled the main stage with the most famous Anime and video game themes. Keisho OHNO made you discover Shamisen on groovy and modern tunes. Neeko and HANGRY&ANGRY took part in the Japan Fashion Days, during the Seifuku Fashion Events for Neeko and during the h.NAOTO event for the punk-rock duo!

And of course, you could not miss the legend X JAPAN in conference before their concert at the Paris Zénith!

Comedy guests

 

Bursts of laughter rang out at Japan Expo! Two comedy groups had come with offbeat Japanese-like humor: les Romanesques, who have already appeared on TV in France, and Kyûton, with ridiculous and naughty performances.

Sports guests

 

Wrestling was back at Japan Expo with two Japanese wrestlers specialized in Lucha Libre: SUGI & RONIN! These high-flying experts fought in the air and particularly fiercely on the ring!

In a more traditional way, KAMUI proposed stunning choreographed sword fight performances. They may have rung a bell to you since the leader of this group took part in the movie Kill Bill.
