The series of Bungo films created by Voice & Heart are classical stories from Japanese literature adapted into films in which famous actors play. Japan Expo shows one of these films: Wonderful Scene.

The story

Adapted from a short story by Osamu DAZAI.

At the residence of Tsushima, a good family in Tsugaru (a northern district of Japan).
“I” treated Okei, a good nature maid, like my subordinate during my childhood. When “I” was grown-up, “I” was struggling to become a novelist but was unable to get a break. One day, “I” learn that Okei has married and is living happily. Unable to feel pleased with her news, “I” reject her visit and treat her cruelly just as before…

The story may be regarded as Osamu DAZAI’s story of first-love, which honestly portrays “my” perverse feelings in his youth.
