Deeply set in Japanese tradition, Wadaiko drums are made of a single piece of wood and are often played outside.
It is often played during temple or traditional celebrations.
The rich and delicate sounds of Wakaido come from the posture and the dynamic of the player's body.
Wadaiko MAKOTO
Discover Japanese drums during a concert by the Wadaiko MAKOTO troupe lead by Mariko KUBOTA SALLANDRE, a Wadaiko player for over 15 years. Mariko, after playing in the Tokyo-Oedo-Sukeroku-Taiko orchestra, arrived in France in 2000.
