Travel Journal

Published on 27/04/2010 - Edition

You may have had the chance to take a trip to Japan. Whether it was recently or a long time ago, tell us about it!

For this contest, we call for your memories… Whether you are a fan, some passer-by or a club member participating in the festival life, tell us about your experience in Japan, made of encounters, surprises and passion!

Any story is welcome!

Language study program, business trip, tourism in Kansai, exploration of the Tokyo jungle, memories of Nagano’s Olympic Games in 1998 or the exhaustive discovery of Okinawa’s local restaurants: we’re interested in everything because everything is fascinating!

How to participate?

The idea is simple but doing it is probably less simple! Using your experience of Japan, you are invited to send us a notebook, a photo album or any display book, of the A4 size, including a series of photos and text, telling about your travel adventures.

With your travel journal, you must include, on a separate sheet, a declaration of good faith asserting that the photos are yours and that the festival Japan Expo is allowed to use them within the frame of this Travel Journal Contest.

To choose the winners, the quality of the photos (originality, framing, relevance, etc.), the quality of the text (fascinating, not too long, and with good spelling!) will be considered as well as the general presentation: drawings, decorations and sketches are welcome.

The style is free, whether you are in the mood for poetry, literature or mere information… the only firm request is imagination!

Frequetly Asked Questions

Q.: Can I print my photos on my personal printer?
A.: Of course, any printing technique (personal or professional, on regular paper or photo paper) is allowed. Obviously the better the printing, the better the quality!

Q.: Are black and white photos allowed?
A.: Whether black and white or color, it’s your choice, the most important being the final result. Yet let’s admit that black and white Sakura in bloom would be a shame! ^^

Q.: Do text have to be typed or hand written?
A.: It’s up to you! Attention, it may totally change the aspect of your travel journal!

Q.: Can I stick things in my travel journal, like dried flowers?
A.: Of course, and we invite you to do so! You may decorate your journal but it is not the main element of selection, even if it is important too!
