Pulled into the world of creation by his brothers when he was barely 20 years, Ippei KURI is above all an artist, and went through all possible positions in the realization of a cartoon.

He is known as the mangaka of Judo Boy, and the animation creator, director, and chara-designer of Gatchaman or The Adventures of Hutch the Honeybee. With his brothers Tatsuo YOSHIDA and Kenji YOSHIDA, he is one of the founding members of the Tatsunoko Production, one of the first and more influential studios in the domain of animation. He used breakthrough technologies in the anime production, and also set creators who are now at the forefront of their specialty, on the road to fame.

On the occasion of his visit at Japan Expo, come and discover a selection of his works, within the framework of an exhibit devoted to him. You will of course find some of the most famous characters from the world of Tatsunoko, such as Judo Boy, Hutch the honeybee, or Gatchaman, but it will also be a more intimate journey into the world of this great draughtsman, with some of his more personal works.
