noitaminA = Animation

That’s right, animation! This represents the intention of its producers, who regard animation from a different point of view, beyond the conventional wisdom. In the past, animation fans were considered as kids, teenagers or enthusiastic followers.

“noitaminA” slot also targets young women who were not considered as consistent animation viewers. The programs change every three months with a view to capturing the female viewers who normally enjoy Drama.

After 5 years since the launch of the “noitaminA” slot, it now delivers a wide variety of content including Drama. It finally created a fully original series called Eden of the East, and the series continued on with two theatrical movies after completion of its broadcast in “noitaminA.”

The programs change periodically and target not only women but also adult men. The 30 minute timeslot has been expanded to one hour from April 2010.

The highest rating for a first episode was 5.8 % with Tôkyô Magnitude 8.0 and "noitaminA"’ s all time highest rating was 6.6 % of Nodame Cantabile – Paris, episode #9.
