L’histoire
In 20XX, humans are at a complete loss what to do with the continual destruction of the environment. To prevent nature from being destroyed and to save animals from being extinguished, a project of artificial jungle is launched. Assigned by the United Nations, Kenzo Oyama successfully develops a man-made “Neo-Jungle” and all the animals raised in nature are forced to live there.
Born in this new world, Leo, a white lion cub, grows up freely and easily. Though always teased by other animals as a coward, he promises himself that someday he will become the jungle Emperor like his father, Panja. Meanwhile, Kenichi, Kenzo Oyama’s son, believes in the greatness of Neo-Jungle without a single a doubt. The story begins when the two of them meet.
Kenichi has a special ability to communicate with animals. He learns from Leo’s mother, Eliza, that the original jungle had been gradually destroyed and that someday humans suddenly forced all the animals to live in Neo-Jungle under strict control. Kenichi hardly believes her story at first but when he hears that Dolf, the elder of the jungle, is in captivity because he is sick, he designs a plan to save him.
Then Kenichi learns that Kenzo, who fears the spread of Dolf’s disease, plans to eliminate all the animals and to build another jungle with their clones.
Leo and Kenichi, after returning to the jungle, witness Panja being shot by a hunter. Taking over Panja’s will, they take a stand with other animals to fight humans.
