Presentation
Europe has a cultural inheritance qualified as a brand image thanks to its sumptuous castles. However Japan has got its own castles too, as majestic and as huge as the European’s. Behind these architectural buildings, the very essence of Japan is hidden: handicraft, popular culture and the ancient hierarchy system.
Japan possesses many cultural treasures: gastronomy, technology, art and nature. And yet, something important is still missing.
That is the existence of a strong Japanese symbol of power and dignity. France has the Arc de Triomphe, the Versailles castle. Every region has its own cultural goods, its own castle. All these symbols contributed to the nation branding in France. Is there anything similar in Japan?
This conference aims to present the value of castles in Japanese culture to the European audience at Japan Expo.
