International AMV contest

Show some creativity thanks to your passion for Anime: the international AMV contest is back, in partnership with AMV France.

Get ready once more for the the Japan Expo International AMV Contest 2012
organized by Japan Expo and AMV-France Association

Each year, AMV makers from all around the world compete against each others for the first place. Last year, was once again a big hit with more than 172 submissions from all around the world!

Once more, this contest allows AMV creators to confront each other to get ranked and win the 1st prize which will be given on stage during the European biggest Japanime convention. This also the occasion to see one's own created broadcast on a giant screen before the eyes of thousands of people and to meet fellow AMV creators.

Now, you have to create the real gem! Do your best and prove yourself as a real AMV challenger on the international stage!

This year, the jury will be composed of members from the AMV-France Association and guest judges.

The public price, which was very popular during every previous editions, will once again enable Japan Expo visitors to choose their favorite AMV from the 20 finalists: Two whole hours worth of AMV on giant screen to be judged by popular vote!

 

Information

 

Constraints
The Music Videos must have been created from Anime (Japanese cartoons) or Manga sources (sources from video games or from non-Japanese cartoons are accepted to a certain extent, read the contest rules for more details). Use of pornographic or extremely violent sequences will disqualify your video.
The video has to be an exclusive one. If the AMV has already been part of another contest or even if it has been put online before the results of the contest, this will result in a disqualification.
All decision of disqualification is definitive and indisputable.

Deadline
The contest ends on May 27th, 2012 at 11:59pm UTC+2 (Paris hour). The videos must have been uploaded by this date.

Upload
You don't have to upload your video immediately after you subscribe. Your video can be uploaded through the upload page accessible on the contest web page, or through the FTP access (see the submission page). CD or DVD sent by postal mail will NOT be considered!

Advices
In order to get as much consideration as possible, please follow these advices:

  • Avoid at all costs long intros and outros.
  • Remove any sub-titles and logos (the DivX logo is a common mistake). Obvious fan-subbed videos are banned.
  • Use acceptable length: between 1"30 and 6"00 maximum (without intro / outro).
