Presentation

Manda is a disciple of great Japanese masters of calligraphy and Sumi-e (monochrome painting) and now teaches both in France and Japan as well where his art and way of teaching are much appreciated.

One of the only, if not the only one, specialist in France of Haiga (a mix between calligraphy and Sumi-e), this master proposes calligraphy and Sumi-e lessons, two arts which rely on the same principles, tools, techniques and philosophy.

At Japan Expo

Manda proposes initiation workshops to Japanese calligraphy for the attendees of Japan Expo. First you will learn the bases of Japanese language and how to write the characters, and then how to lead the brush and its dynamics. Each participant will leave with a piece of calligraphy.

This initiation to Japanese calligraphy will allow to enjoy a part of traditional culture and its richness, to discover the transparent medium which is Sumi (black ink), the fascination from the beauty of the shapes.
