California roll cooking demonstration

Fans of sushi, time to use your chopsticks! The Wasabi sushi school arrives at Japan Expo to teach you the art of California roll making: a great opportunity for beginners in the sushi field and for whoever wishes to improve their skills!

Introduction

The California roll or californian maki was invented in Los Angeles in the beginning of the 60s, by a japanese chef named Ichiro Mashita. It was from that time on that the sushi trend began to spread, first in the United States, and then throughout the rest of the world.

This year, the Wasabi sushi school comes to Japan Expo to give you a demonstration of the california maki (salmon, avocado and avocado shrimp), and to show you how to make a traditional maki (hosomaki). Throughout the entire duration of the festival, the Wasabi sushi school offers Japan Expo's attendees the possibility to make their own California rolls and to eat-in.

The Théma Press publishing house are also invited : the cooking demonstration matches up with the publication of the manga Sushi Gohan, which helps you step-by-step with images and tips, to make your own sushis at home. This book is of course to be available for sale at the Wasabi booth.
