Animation Short Film
Published on 27/04/2010 - Edition
Still stronger, still farther, Japan Expo innovates this year by launching a great contest of animation short films! It's up to you!
A contest in partnership with Dailymotion
A most important element of pop culture, animation is also assential for Japan Expo. We had to organize this contest of animation short film this year. Explanations!
Introduction to the contest
As usual, the aim is easy! A short script of 15 minutes at most, an animated making (drawings, modeling clay, scale models, toys…) and it's done! Then post it on DAILYMOTION before June 1st, 2010. After acceptation, your participation will be officialised and seen by all on the festival DAILYMOTION page (JapanExpoTV)!
Participation conditions
The contest is international and allowed to everyone, whatever their age, nationality or job. Yet, there are a few constraints to respect:
- Theme: New World- ATTENTION! The short film must be aimed at the general public. The jury is allowed to reject any short film that would be judged too "adult" (pornography, physical or moral violence…)
- Duration: at most 15 minutes (15’ 00’’)
- Animation techniques: any animation technique is allowed, among which traditional drawing, computer animation, toy stop-motion, objects and materials such as modeling clay, sand, cut paper, etc. Of course associating several techniques is allowed.
- Language: the short film does not necessary have to include dialogues or any other linguistic sound elements. If it does, they might be in any language. In this case, the jury might appreciate a translation (dubbing or subtitles) in French.
- Creation date: the short film must have been made especially for the contest, as indicated by the added mention "Made in 2010 for the animation short film contest of Japan Expo 11th Impact / DAILYMOTION" in the beginning or closing credits.
- Copyright: the contest participant must be the author of the short film he proposes.
