Contest rules

Article 1:

This contest is organized in partnership with the association Funglisoft Production and Japan Expo for the 2010 edition which will be set at Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Center on July 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th, 2010.

The contest is open to any non professional video director over 18. Yet films with participants under 18 are accepted if a signed authorization from the parents, allowing the film to be showed during Japan Expo 2010, is sent with the file.

Subscription is free.

Every participant can present 1 video. The selection committee only can decide to show one or more videos depending on the number of participants and the quality of the videos.

Article 2:

The only works accepted are short films lasting 40 minutes at most, including the credits (a short overrun might be accepted by the selection committee if the film has been chosen to be showed during the festival, depending on the time available for showing and the number of participants).

The subject must be related to imaginary worlds (fantasy, japanimation, video games, science fiction, thriller, fantastic…).

The selection committee only can decide if the subject has been respected, taking into account the spirit of the festival and the public’s expectations.

Article 3:

The videos must be sent before June 15th, 2010.

Videos must be sent on a DVD in mpeg 2, avi, divx, xvid, mov or any other format with the necessary quality for being showed on a widescreen.

Article 4:

Subscription forms have to be filled in capital letters and sent to the selection committee along with the video, before June 15th, 2010.

The present rules have to be signed and sent before June 15th, 2010 to the selection committee.

Article 5:

The participants assume shipping of the videos.

The selection committee cannot be held responsible in case of loss of or damage to the videos by the post office or any other mailing organization.

Videos will not be sent back.

Article 6:

The committee deliberation is confidential and the final decision is without appeal.

Article 7:

The directors are responsible for the contents of their videos and concede the non-exclusive network operating license of the videos during the festival, in the frame of the showings organized by Japan Expo. The festival upholds to respect the authors’ moral rights.

By virtue of loyalty, the directors uphold to exclude any visual scene or sound sequence contrary to good morals (racism, paedophilia, xenophobia, attack to the freedom of conscience…). The selection committee will set aside any video infringing this article, whatever its quality.

Article 8:

Every participant agrees to the understanding and acceptation of these rules which they must sign and send back with the subscription form to the selection committee:
