As the memory of the animation studio Tatsunoko Production which he co-founded, Ippei KURI is also a talented artist who has been doing all the jobs of anime and manga for close to 60 years!
Ippei KURI was barely 20 years old when his brothers took him along into the world of creation, allowing him to try all the the jobs of manga and animation fields. Many heroes became alive in his hands, some of whom became famous worldwide such as Mach Go Go Go’s pilot, courageous Judo Boy, or G-1 Gatchaman’s leader, at Tatsunoko Production (one of the first and most influent animation studio in Japan), which he founded with his brothers in 1962.
Japan Expo offers you the opportunity to meet him during the festival, with a conference and signings. And there’s more: after the exhibit dedicated to Tatsunoko Production last year, a new one shows you the universe of Ippei KURI, between his work for Tatsunoko Production and more personal creations.
