Samurai on the cultural stage!
Already present last year, the association Samurai no Kokoro is back with an original scheduling on all four days!
This Thursday, Samurai looking like they were pulled out of a historical movie hopped onto the cultural stage to explain the history of Japanese armors, flowering at the Sengoku period, also called "Warring States period"!

With great dexterity, they showed us one after the other the various elements of the armor before putting them on a young girl from the audience who gradually turns in to a real warrior .. although clumsy when she had to draw her Katana!

Hopefully, the speaker M. NAKAJIMA, with his ceremonial brocade, was here to help! He explained the secrets of the different weapons and their purpose: spears, bows, swords … with a few anecdotes. If it was easy to pierce the neck of the enemies with a spear, death by Katana was very rare on the battlefield.
After the demonstration, Samurai no Kokoro created a real traffic jam in the BN alley by beginning fighting, which drew many viewers and made the joy of all photographers. And it was not even 11h!
At the end of the day, the master armorer Nobumichi ATSUTA came on stage to start the new event: the making of a helmet with only a session a day, a beautiful initiation to the armor-making techniques presented like a four episodes saga to follow live on the festival!
Today : the first steps, the shaping of a soft metal sheet.

Come see the other steps! The creation of the patterns, painting, assembling … don't miss them every night at 5.30 pm!
