Japanese tales through Rakugo

  • 4.67 / 5
Published on 30/05/2012 - Edition 2012

Rakugo, tales from the Meiji era and earlier, will be heard again in Japan Expo thanks to Compagnie Balabolka.

Discover Rakugo, a Japanese kind of literary show where the storyteller is sitting on stage. Body language and facial expressions are the key of these tales which are told since four centuries in Japan.

Compagnie Balabolka invites you to hear the ethnologist and storyteller, Stéphane FERRANDEZ on the cultural stage. Passionate with arts, he was initiated to Rakugo by Japanese masters and he shares his experience by telling stories for all age groups dating from the Meiji era.
